Accommodations
Carol’s note: Here are a few suggestions for accommodation for the wedding. There are also cottages for rent through the usual sites like Airbnb, Expedia, Vrbo …. If you supply the contact information/address, I’ll be happy to go and check them out.
2 rooms with shared full bath. I have toured this old Bobcaygeon home, and it’s very nice, with lakeside property, walk into downtown Bobcaygeon, close to the house in Bobcaygeon.
Carol’s note: recommended by a friend who stayed there!
15-20 minutes drive east of Bobcaygeon.
Family and dog friendly. King, queen & family suites. 40 acres of land behind the B&B with trails.
Carol’s note: I have had afternoon tea there (delicious) and it’s a very comfortable, welcoming place.
Very convenient, right in town by the Trent Canal locks, the closest one to the main street of Bobcaygeon, with restaurants around the corner. Motel-type accommodation, nothing fancy but clean and tidy.
Carol’s note: The woman who owns Rippling Waters B&B (below) recommended it; Rippling Waters B&B recommended it; family stayed there and were happy with it.
About a 4-minute drive to downtown Bobcaygeon, 6 minutes to the house.
Carol’s note: Look very nice; haven’t been inside.
Eganridge Resort, Golf Country Club & Spa
Resort-style accommodation, very comfortable, same owner as Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto. On Sturgeon Lake, less than 10-minute drive into Bobcaygeon.
Christopher’s note: We had originally tried to book a block of rooms here but were told much of it was already booked — nice accommodations but book early if you can.
Same street again as Rippling Waters, very convenient, close to the house. A couple of cottages and some rooms.
Carol’s note: highly recommended by a friend.
Gordon’s Bobcaygeon Holiday Rentals
These are wonderful little waterside ‘bunkies’. Same street as Rippling Waters B&B, so very convenient.
Carol’s note: They may already be all booked, however, but worth checking out.
On the south shore of Sturgeon Lake, 2- and 3-Bedroom cottages, about 5 minutes south of Bobcaygeon, 10 minutes from the house.
Carol’s note: Friends know the owners.
There are also several places to stay in Lindsay, which is half an hour south of Bobcaygeon — Howard Johnson and similar hotels.
Not Recommended: Three Islands Motel, and Princess Motel.
